Email markshot@pacificfrontdesk.com. One person reads it, so a reply usually takes a day or two. It helps to include your macOS version and the Markshot version (shown at the bottom of Markshot Settings).

Where is the app? Nothing opened.

Markshot lives in the menu bar, near the clock — it has no Dock icon and no main window. Look for the camera-viewfinder icon. If your menu bar is crowded, the MacBook notch can hide it; open Markshot again from Launchpad or the Applications folder to see the Welcome window.

The shortcut does nothing, or I see only my wallpaper

Markshot needs the Screen Recording permission. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, turn on Markshot, then quit Markshot and open it again. If the shortcut still does nothing, another app may be using it: open Markshot Settings and record a different one.

How do I change the capture shortcut?

Click the Markshot icon in the menu bar and choose Settings…. Click the shortcut next to Capture shortcut, then press the new key combination — for example ⌥⌘S or a function key like F13. It must include ⌘, ⌥ or ⌃ (or be a function key), so it never fires while you type. Press Esc to keep the old one, or the ↺ arrow to go back to ⇧⌘2. If the new shortcut is already used by another app, Markshot tells you so you can pick a different one.
